Not good news, but it has to be out there~

Well everyone- this is a very hard day for my family. I don't want to go into too much detail, but Chris and I are calling it quits. I guess I am actually the one calling it quits. Chris has been involved with someone else, and I found this out last night. Man, life really gets you down on some days. I have been given a wonderful gift because I did marry him, and I have these three wonderful girls- I will always thank Chris for that. But I did not get married to end up being hurt. This was not the deal I signed up for. I just wanted to let the family know, so this way it's out there and everyone knows what is going on. Thanks to all of you for your support, which I know I will get from you! I love you all and I'm so sorry that this has happened.

Alyx is almost 17!!!!!

I cannot believe that our dear, sweet Alyx bo-balyx is turning the ripe old age of 17 tomorrow!!! That is so crazy to me- considering that I have been her stepmom since she was 9~ I know you can't read this right now Alyx, but I hope you have a marvelous birthday. I think when you come home, we will really celebrate the last two birthdays we have not spent with you! It is hard to imagine having a nice birthday away from your family and friends, but I know you are doing great things there and that things will be getting better for all of us soon. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

So, on other notes- Grandma Jan is doing great from recovering from her stroke- she just moved back to her house yesterday! We are so proud of you Jan- you are doing amazing :)

Callista has gymnastics assessment next week- keep your fingers crossed for team!

Teagyn is the most hilarious 5-year-old I have ever met (they're all pretty funny though!) She will be registering for kindergarten next week- where has the time gone?

Chris and I are doing good and hoping for nice weather to come- we can't wait to get some gardening done, and go camping, just be outside! Love you all so much- thanks to everyone for sharing Alyx's birthday with her and thinking of her- you are one amazing family~

Welcome to our spring weather- not so much fun for Spring Break!!! I guess what happens here is you have a nice, mellow winter without snow, and then you get the spring karma- hail, groppel, snow, rain, and WIND!!!

Here's the pics from Easter 2010!!! Another great time, except we are really missing Alyx. We talked to her on the way up to G & G's house, and she misses everyone sooo much- but she was eating candy and watching The Blind Side with her group, so she was having an alright day. We had a great Easter Egg hunt and did all the normal festivities....

Happy April Fools Day....

So Chris and I really pulled out some tricks this year. I don't remember doing any pranks on each other in the past, so this year made up for some of the past. This morning started with Chris asking me for a cup of tea, which I make every morning for myself. He doesn't usually have tea with me in the morning, so I probably should have seen that as a sign of something, but nope, I didn't. So I come downstairs and of course put the teapot on the stove. I always turn on the faucet to get the water warm in the morning, and TODAY the faucet was not cooperating! Instead, I was blasted full on with the sprayer, which Chris had sneakily rubberbanded down! We had a good laugh over that one, and I figured it was over. Plus, I had my own tricks up my sleeve! While Chris was in the shower, he was trying to get his shampoo out of the bottle, which for some reason was not coming out.. hmmm? So he pounded that bottle and gave it a big squeeze, at which point the entire contents left in the bottle came out in one big glob ;) That was my trick was to put a little plastic wrap over the top, under the cap. Haha- one point Kara, one point Chris.

I proceeded on with my morning and started to do my transcription work. I was typing along ever so peacefully, but I started noticing after the first paragraph that there was a weird phrase in the middle of my work. Every time I would type "the", it would correct itself to say "my husband rocks".... very funny honey! He had gone in at some point and put in an auto-correct to change the wording every time I typed "the". So that made the score- Chris two, Kara one.

So now Chris keeps telling me there is something else in store for me, but I can't seem to find anything else off today. It's now 8 p.m. and nothing else has happened. I did also get in Chris' truck this morning and set everything to very high volume, stereo, turned the wipers on full blast, A/C on full blast, blinkers, etc. I don't know if he found this very funny, or if he just couldn't hear much for the day! So the score stands even- we will see if anything else happens tonight, and I'll fill you in. All in all though, a very good April Fool's Day!! Hope your day was full of funny tricks and pranks too!
