Go, super gymnast!

So, today was Calli's first gymnastics "competition"- it was a mini-olympics, and she had a great time! She is getting really good at the uneven bars- and her floor routine wasn't bad either... She is excited to keep going and try to be as good as the big girls are in her gym... We love her and are so proud of her!

HELLO ALL.....

Hey everyone.... it's been a little while since I wrote, mostly because nothing has happened! I have been working, Chris has been trying his best to stay busy and not bored while waiting for the snow to melt, and the kids are just being kids....

So, hope everyone is having a super day, week, etc. I am going to head to the store and find something yummy to make for Sunday dinner..... Love you all lots!

alright, alright- i got tagged!

So, Megs, my evil sister has tagged me again! This one looks fun, though.... I am supposed to say seven interesting things about myself that nobody really knows! I don't know how interesting they are, but here ya go anyway!

1- I hum constantly... my husband thinks I'm crazy or that I don't know any words to any songs! I totally do, I just find humming to be calming or something, I guess :)

2- I also talk to myself a lot, and I bet people think I am a little nutsy- I talk to myself in the grocery store, saying my list out loud, etc... I think it's pretty funny, myself!

3- I am a recipe fiend... I have sooo many cookbooks, like one or two would not be enough! I will probably have a good sized library by my old age. By the way, if anyone wants to borrow, I would be happy to share!

4-I absolutely love that these blogs are around- this is my greatest new hobby- and it is the best thing to be able to share my sister's lives with them through their blogs, plus I have found a lot of other people have them too, and it is so nice to be able to catch up with old friends.

5- I am really bad at math- the other night I told Calli her homework was wrong, and she was very upset with me, saying, but Mom- I can't figure this one out- I think it's right! Chris checked it and it sure was- bad mom!

6- One of my biggest dreams is to go skydiving- I don't know what it is, but I always get the urge to jump off stuff! I am serious- I will do this someday! I will probably pee my pants, but it's worth it! This is a curse though- I have broken my ankles several times now!

7- Lastly, my other great dream is to someday open a restaurant OR a bed and breakfast.... I have all sorts of ideas for menus, etc. I think it is so fun to cook for people and see their reactions to food.... I bet my sisters and I could put together a sweet restaurant!

Okay- that's it, that's all the interesting stuff about me!

THE MOST WONDERFUL MOM EVER....

So, my mom's birthday was yesterday, on the 4th... I cannot say enough wonderful things about this woman. She has been a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother to all of us! I have learned so much from you, mom. I can't count how many times in my life I witnessed you doing things for other people, always going out of your way to make sure everything was taken care of, and that everyone was happy. As your most difficult daughter to raise ( I think I can claim that one!), I have grown to appreciate all the little things and the huge things that you tried to do for me. And, now having my own daughters, I am definitely understanding how you felt! I cannot say enough how sorry I am for putting you and dad through all those times, but I feel our relationship is so much stronger now, and I can tell you everything.

My mom is an amazing woman. She works sooooo hard all the time! On top of her decorating and catering business, she is helping raise Alyx, doing homework with her every night, and being a mom all over again, plus her busy church callings, and her many other boards that she is on, and the mother's group, and her book club, and etc, etc, etc....! I'm not really sure if she is in her book club anymore, but she will let me know, I'm sure. Also, she just takes care of so many other things, but my point in all this is to say that she always has time to chat when you need her, and she loves reading to the kids, and being a great Marmee. The girls say happy birthday, Mom, and they love you and miss you! So, in closing, I would just like to say how very much I cherish my wonderful mother and how much I miss being able to have her around more. I love you with all my heart MOM!!!! Happy birthday!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, I hope everyone had a fab New Year's Eve and Day. We went out with a bunch of friends and the kids stayed at auntie Karen's with her brother Dave.... they made homemade ice cream and homemade playdough and had a great time.... Chris has the flu and is not feeling so great today, so we spent the day in our pj's, drinking 7 up and eating popsicles with him... love you honey! So, here's to the New Year- and speaking of resolutions, I think I picked up some more work! I have a telephone interview next week with a big company and hopefully will get some more transcription through email.... sweet! Love you all and hope 2009 will be a fun, exciting, and prosperous year for all of you!
